Discovering Sleep Apnea – Anna’s Story

We like to hear from our users to find out how they use the app and what they have done to combat their snoring. With these user stories, we hope you can pick up some great tips and gain some motivation to address your snoring too.

This story comes from Anna who sent us an email about her experience.

As someone who had never heard of obstructive sleep apnea, Anna used her SnoreLab recordings and the information on our website to investigate her sleep health in more detail. She has since seen remarkable changes after receiving a sleep apnea diagnosis and the necessary treatment …

Dear SnoreLab,

I simply wanted to write to express my heartfelt thanks to you for the app you have developed, as well as the array of sleep information and resources that you provide on your website.

For more years than I can remember, I have woken every morning feeling beyond exhausted and unable to function, made worse by frequent headaches and nausea that plagued my mornings if I had consumed alcohol the night before.

I thought I had grown intolerant to alcohol, I have also had uncontrollable high blood pressure for many years, which I had thought was causing my frequent waking up at night with night sweats and heart palpitations.

I just couldn’t understand how people around me had so much energy, and kept pushing myself to do more than my energy reserves could cope with, but the situation was getting steadily worse and I was convinced there was something badly wrong with my health that I couldn’t figure out.

At age 36 – I felt like I was 86.

I have always snored, quite loudly, but in recent months my husband kept waking me because my snoring had grown so much louder and, as he put it, sounded extremely painful and distressing – as though I couldn’t quite breathe.

Alongside this, I started getting persistent sinus pain and bleeding, and my night-time waking frequency was increasing dramatically.

After some research, I found SnoreLab and thought it would be useful to be able to track my snoring, and also what remedies might help to reduce it – and improve the quality of sleep we both got.

My first few nights were a shock, both in terms of hearing the sheer volume of my Epic snoring, as well as the duration of my snoring – often at its loudest and most painful sounding just before I woke up in the night. I sounded like I was being strangled! I would listen to short sections, and then couldn’t listen to any more of the recording – both shocked and slightly disturbed by the sounds I made in my sleep!

I tried some remedies to begin with – throat sprays, incline pillows, etc. – but they only led to marginal improvements. I continued reading more and more of the resources on SnoreLab and came across an article about sleep apnea, a condition I was unfamiliar with.

I started listening back to my recordings in detail, rather than just the snippets I had listened to previously, and I started hearing long pauses in my breathing, gasping, and long episodes where it sounded like I was struggling to get a breath into my lungs.

Unsure, I spoke to a private sleep disorder consultant who listened to my recordings and who asked more about my background. He was certain I was a very likely to be suffering from sleep apnea and suggested a 2-day home sleep study, which I agreed to. Within a week I had my diagnosis of moderate sleep apnoea, and within 2 weeks I had my CPAP machine.

My life, as a result of this treatment, has been transformed!

I wake every single morning with so much more energy than I have previously had in my living memory. I have clarity, my headaches are gone, my racing heart rate and night time awakenings have gone, I can do normal things without feeling like I’m running a marathon, my resting heart rate and blood pressure are coming down from dangerous levels, I’m losing weight more easily…..the list is endless.

Frankly, I didn’t know how abnormal my “normal” had been, until I started this treatment and realised what normal SHOULD feel like.

All of this started with SnoreLab, and it has given me my life back. That’s why I wanted to write to say thank you – if it hadn’t been for SnoreLab, I would still have been in depressed, exhausted ignorance of how different life could be.

So, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Many people with obstructive sleep apnea remain undiagnosed. People can often have headaches, feel excessively tired and have difficulty staying focussed, but they often don’t make the link with snoring. Sleep apnea is simply a condition that many people haven’t heard of.

Anna was able to identify some tell-tale signs of sleep apnea on SnoreLab and pushed for a sleep study which has given her a reliable diagnosis. You can read about what a sleep study entails here.

She has since made massive strides to improve not only her sleep health, but her risk of many associated conditions.

Stop Snoring by Treating Allergies – Jenny’s Story

Sometimes, people snore for years and just accept it as an inevitability – something that can’t be fixed.

When you understand your triggers with SnoreLab, a lot of snoring can be remedied through some very basic but important changes. We always like to hear from users who are spurred on to make positive changes when they see and hear their SnoreLab results.

Jenny has slept in a separate room to her husband for the last five years because of her snoring. SnoreLab has given her valuable insights and she has effectively eliminated her snoring in two days!

Jenny first contacted us on Facebook with concerns about her high Snore Score:

Great App. I have been using it for the past five days. I have seen and heard my results – horrified! My husband has refused to sleep in same room as me for the past five years! We have settled into a routine but it’s lonely.

My readings started at 124, and last night it reached 199 with snoring at the epic level for 70% of the time that I am asleep.

At some point, I am quiet for 30 minutes but then go straight back to epic snoring! Help – is this dangerous?

People often ask us if they should be worried about a high Snore Score. Our reply to them and Jenny is to ask yourself if you think your snoring is negatively impacting on your physical, mental or social wellbeing, or if you are having very poor sleep.

Whilst loud snoring is linked to an increased risk of obstructive sleep apnea, a high Snore Score doesn’t mean you definitely have the condition.

Jenny hadn’t been sleeping in the same room as her husband for many years, so whilst she may not be feeling physical ill effects of poor sleep, the situation she found herself in as a result of snoring was still not good.

We gave Jenny some advice on what to do if she was concerned about her snoring. A couple of days later we received this reply:

I have great news. Despite suffering for years and trying sprays, nose plugs, mouth guards and finally banishment to the spare room – after more than five years I have had two completely snore-free nights thanks to SnoreLab! So happy!

I was in hospital on Christmas day with anaphylactic shock, I then had two bad asthma attacks this month. I mentioned to my doctor that I am worried that my snoring is causing an issue. She said she may put me in sleep clinic but it could take a while even if I get accepted.

So I searched the internet and found SnoreLab. I downloaded the app and for the first week I recorded my snoring and scored 199 with 70% of my snoring at the epic level. I cried!

I joined the Facebook page for advice and read some articles. Having had problems with asthma for many years, I thought that maybe allergies were causing my problem.

So this weekend, my husband helped me to clear my bedroom and throw away my ancient bed I have had for twenty years along with all bedding and feather pillows and toppers. We cleaned, vacuumed and aired the room.

I also bought an electric bed so I could raise my head. I bought hypoallergenic pillows, covers, and bedding, we installed a steam vaporizer, and rock salt lamp. I took an allergy tablet at night and made sure I had my asthma preventer each night before bed. I had some allergy medication from the doctor, settled down and WOW! I didn’t snore!

I went from a score of 199 and lots of epic snoring to 0 in just two days! I can’t believe it. If this continues we are going to buy a double electric bed so I can return to main bedroom. The steamer and hypoallergenic bedding will move in too.

I can’t believe I have suffered this long without attributing my snoring to my allergies. Thank you for a great app and advice.

P.S. I woke up today feeling refreshed for the first time in years.

Allergies can easily bring on snoring by causing inflammation in your airways and blocking your nose. If you think allergies are making you snore, have a look at our guides to preventing snoring caused by dust allergies and hay fever.

Zero Added Sugar Diet for Snoring – Richard’s Story

Diet & Lifestyle, User Stories

Snoring Diet Success Story – Richard

This story comes from Richard who contacted us about his amazing success with the No Added Sugar Challenge. Ask anyone about snoring and they’ll tell you that losing weight it a great way to reduce it – but this story isn’t about weight loss. We were stunned to hear that snoring can effectively stop straight away with some healthy adjustments to what you eat …

My name is Rich, and I am a Snorer. It took me a long time to be able to say that but last year I participated in a sleep study that categorically confirmed I am what they call a “heavy snorer.”

The doctor said my snoring was most likely the result of enlarged tissue in my airway due to ageing, lack of fitness, drinking alcohol before bed, weight gain, and some medications.

Thankfully, my wife Shannon chose to wear ear plugs instead of leaving me! I tried a number of things to reduce my snoring, but had little success.

In 2017 I found SnoreLab. I finally found out how bad I snored and I began to try several remedies including exercise, diet, mouthpieces, and pillows designed to help snoring. Things weren’t really improving that much.

My Snore Scores averaged above 50 and I ranked in the 86th percentile of SnoreLab users. Or as my wife put it, my snoring was horrible.

Then came the seven day No Added Sugar Challenge (NASC) and the week that just may have saved a life.

I thought I’d give the challenge a go after hearing about the success others had. I don’t normally eat or drink a lot of sugary foods, but when I do, I go all in. But it’s only seven days – challenge accepted.

Completing the challenge with Shannon made it so much easier. We eat fairly well most of the time so it wasn’t too difficult to stay on track. Nonetheless, we were very surprised about how much of the food we typically eat has added sugar.  This led to a couple of heated discussions, “There is no way bacon has sugar!” Turns out it does.

We planned and prepared some food for the week: hard boiled eggs, roasted almonds, cheese sticks, veggies and fruits. Shannon was very creative with dinners. On day one she made a chicken and black bean salad with homemade avocado dressing – it was absolutely delicious. Day two we had stuffed peppers with a no sugar added sauce that was a little pricey but very good.

We made it through the challenge, and had a little fun with it along the way. I noticed that I initially had to resist getting up and looking for a snack, but by the end of the week I didn’t feel the urge so much. I lost about six pounds and Shannon and I both seemed to be getting better sleep.

But what does sugar have to do with sleep? And what about the snoring?

The day before the challenge my Snore Score was 77. After one day of the challenge, my Snore Score dropped to 1. I thought it was an anomaly but the scores over the next few nights proved otherwise:

Day 2:  3
Day 3:  8
Day 4:  9
Day 5:  8
Day 6:  6
Day 7:  4

My Snore Score average went from above 50 to single digits. I couldn’t believe it. While I have not discussed this with my doctor yet, I am convinced that added sugar intake is a source of the tissue inflammation and likely the cause of my snoring.

The week after the challenge, I tested this theory by eating foods that I would normally eat. For lunch I had an Italian meat sandwich with condiments and salad with dressing. For dinner: pizza, wings, veggies with blue cheese dressing. I had a significant increase in snoring and scored 35 – and then an immediate decrease as I went back to paying closer attention to added sugar intake.

I continue to monitor my snoring and control my sugar intake. By reducing sugar, my snore score continues to average about 8. I have been getting quality sleep and Shannon has even given up the ear plugs.

Snoring’s link with bodyweight is well studied and well understood. Less appreciated is the importance of what and when you eat. We are hearing more and more stories from people who make these adjustments to their diet and almost instantly see reductions in their snoring: from reducing sugar, the paleo diet, to eating very small evening meals.

Study for Sleep Apnea – Susan’s Story

Sleep Study Story – Susan

We like to hear from our users to find out how they use the app and what they have done to combat their snoring. With these user stories, we hope you can pick up some great tips and gain some motivation to address your snoring too.

This story comes from Susan who responded to a post about sleep apnea on our Facebook page. After using SnoreLab and identifying some concerning audio on her recordings, Susan requested a sleep study and found out she had very severe obstructive sleep apnea. This story details her route from being blissfully unaware, through investigation, diagnosis and treatment of her sleep apnea …

For a while I suspected that I only snored intermittently throughout the night. My snoring has generally occurred under the usual “snoring circumstances” such as laying on my back, after drinking alcohol and being extremely tired.

My snoring seemed to get worse after coming to an early menopause which also coincided with some weight gain.

I found with my VivoFit band that I was waking frequently, but it didn’t provide comprehensive information so I started looking at other sleep monitoring methods. That’s when I can across the SnoreLab app.

After thinking I was only an occasional snorer, I was shocked to see that I snored consistently all night with a large chunk of it being the “Epic” level.

I’ve had problems breathing through my nose for some time, so saw an ENT specialist thinking this was the likely cause of my snoring. I mentioned my SnoreLab results and that I thought my snoring was a bigger problem than I initially had thought and that I wanted it investigated. He didn’t really ask about sleep apnea or snoring and instead I had nose surgery which wasn’t particularly successful.

Once I had used SnoreLab for a bit, I didn’t really suspect I had sleep apnea, I just thought I was a chronic snorer. It was while researching chronic snoring that I came to think that I might have sleep apnea, or that it was at least worth doing a sleep study.

I analyzed my SnoreLab results and I started to notice some tell-tale signs. I did full night recordings and there were some silent areas in my sessions with some gasping noises. This made me think that sleep apnea was a possibility, but thought that it was probably mild as mostly the results were showing snoring sounds all night long.

More alarm bells started ringing when I realized that I was feeling extremely tired all the time, yawning at my desk after only a few hours at work. Once I had joined the dots – the excessive sleepiness and the snoring – I then seriously considered sleep apnea as a possibility.

I noticed my Snore Score was getting higher so I looked closer at the audio and found more silent areas and gasping.

My doctor was very obliging in referring me to a sleep specialist after I explained my SnoreLab results and my constant tiredness. The sleep specialist was interested in the app, and after some questions I was offered a sleep study straight away without any further investigations.

I had the choice of a home study or one in a sleep clinic. The home study seemed to tick the boxes in terms of cost, so I asked if this was as reliable as one performed in a specialist clinic. He explained that due to the severity of my symptoms, a home study will likely give a reliable diagnosis. If he wasn’t sure from the home study results, he would insist on a clinic study.

Four weeks after my initial consultation I had my home sleep study.

On the day of the study, I went to a late afternoon appointment at the sleep clinic so a technician could help me fit all of the parts. There were many attachments: finger clamp sensors, heart rate monitors, a microphone, various electrodes that attached to my head and chest as well as some other parts to look for leg movement. She attached everything in an orderly fashion and explained it all as she went along.

I then went home (with a jacket on to cover up my attachments so I didn’t attract unwanted attention) and got on with my evening. Despite having these pieces attached to me, I was still able to move around easily and do the things I’d normally do before bed.

Of all the connections, there were a few that I had to fit myself before going to sleep. The leads from the various attachments were bundled into one plug to be connected at the front of a belt around my middle. Then I had to put in the nasal prongs and a small clamp on my finger which were also connected to the belt.

When I went to sleep, it was an unusual feeling, but certainly not uncomfortable. I didn’t feel like I slept very well for fear of the leads disconnecting. In a Catch-22 scenario, I then started to worry that because I thought I wasn’t sleeping well the test wouldn’t give an accurate representation of my normal sleep (this later proved to be an unfounded fear, as there was plenty of data when my results came back, and the diagnosis was clear as day).

Before, the technician had explained what needed to be disconnected in the morning. Everything came off very easily like she said it would. By undoing the two connections on the front belt, the entire system slipped off like a cardigan.

She had also explained that there was no need to tidy up the leads or disconnect anything else, I simply had to put everything into a bag and return it to the clinic.

The results were sent away to be analyzed and I got them back in four weeks.

I was very surprised. After thinking that if I did have sleep apnea, it would be very mild or not detected, my results came back as “Very Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea”. My AHI score was 100! This means that my sleep was disrupted 100 times per hour. Sometimes, oxygen was interrupted completely for 30 seconds at a time.

Following the initial shock, I was then excited to think that there are known treatments for sleep apnea and that I would one day hopefully not feel so tired.

The sleep specialist wrote a script for a CPAP machine and gave me a list of suppliers. Helpfully, the script also had instructions to the supplier as to what settings the machine should have.

Interestingly, the chemist I rented the CPAP machine from had a sleep apnea trained assistant. I discussed the app with her and she was intrigued. She mentioned that a lot of people assume they can rent a CPAP machine without a script (they can’t here in Australia). She then said that SnoreLab would be a great way to give evidence to doctors and convince them that a sleep study is necessary.

I had to use the machine for a month so they could determine its effectiveness and whether the airflow settings were correct. The machine I was given had a feature that meant it could also detect apnea events. After a month of use, my AHI score reduced from 100 to 3!

I’m so glad I did the sleep study and started CPAP treatment, especially since I did some research about the detrimental effects of sleep apnea. Having such a high score meant I was a prime candidate for stroke and many other health problems.

I am still using a CPAP machine, and whilst I’m still a bit tired in the day, I’m optimistic that this will improve. Even though my sleep still isn’t quite where I want it to be, I feel comforted that my breathing obstructions are not so life threatening!

I sing the praises of SnoreLab all over the place and honestly don’t think I would have pushed for a sleep study had I not used the app beforehand.

Many people snore loudly and feel tired throughout the day, but don’t make a link between the two. Susan was able to identify some tell-tale signs of sleep apnea on SnoreLab and pushed for a sleep study which has given her a reliable diagnosis. You can read about what a sleep study entails here.

Anti-Snoring Pillow Success – Fiona’s Story

Anti-Snoring Pillow Success – Fiona’s Story

We like to hear from our users and find out how they use the app and what they have done to combat their snoring. With these user stories, we hope you can pick up some great tips and gain some motivation to address your snoring too. This user story comes from Fiona, who left a review on Google Play and answered our snoring questionnaire …

Scared to speak too soon but I think I’ve cured myself in five days flat with this app.

I’m fifty years old and in full health. I’d never snored until about two months ago when this snoring like a saw mill came on all of a sudden with no obvious explanation. I wasn’t sure what started it; whether it was age related, weight gain or breathing problems, I just didn’t know.

Sometimes, I did wake myself up with the noise, but I’ve been a good sleeper for as long as I can remember so was mostly oblivious to my new-found snoring ability. It was my partner who was suffering as even without the snoring, he’s already quite a light sleeper.

It got to the point where I had to try some remedies. I did an online search for some snoring remedies and found a few things I wanted to give a go.

Firstly, I tried some snoring rings that had acupressure dots on them; I bought one and then another to wear both together but they had no effect.

Then I tried Nytol throat spray which didn’t taste great. I also tried Vicks on my chest and some nasal strips; they did help me breathe a bit better but the snoring stubbornly stayed.

Nearing the end of his tether, my partner intervened and started taking away my pillows as he though I should sleep flatter. But this was just too uncomfortable for me. I normally sleep on my back with two pillows so to sleep flat felt awful. But at this point, I thought I’d try anything.

Even if he made me turn onto my side I would still snore, even with my mouth closed! I thought sleeping on my side with a closed mouth was meant to stop snoring!

That’s when I downloaded the SnoreLab app. I tried it for a couple of nights and could no longer argue that my snoring probably wasn’t that bad. I left a review on Google Play …

“Don’t like this app, because now I can’t deny to my partner that I do actually snore like a steam train! I can hear it for myself, OMG! Hopefully I can monitor this further and get some tips to decrease the problem”

SnoreLab replied to my review and offered a questionnaire they were making to help people identify their snoring triggers and things that might help.

The questionnaire made me aware of having one nostril always more blocked than the other, so I thought about seeing a doctor about potential nasal polyps and tried some steaming to clear my nose a bit more.

I was also recommended a wedge pillow to elevate my head. I saw on the app that this could let me still sleep on my back but in a more elevated position so I was drawn to this idea. I couldn’t find a wedge pillow in my local stores so bought a V pillow instead.

My partner and I had slept in separate beds for a week previous, so I decided to put this pillow to the test for the first time in a shared bed. He didn’t wake up once! Result! I found the position comfortable as I could go back to my preferred sleeping position. It’s also quite firm so my head was nicely elevated which given me instant success.

Thank you to the developers of SnoreLab. It has saved me from being bludgeoned by my partner! I’m continuing to monitor my snoring with the app as I don’t want to let things slip. For now, I’m sleeping so well and so is my partner.

Head elevation has shown to be a simple but very effective way of reducing snoring, particularly if you are a dedicated back sleeper. You can read more about sleeping position and its impact on snoring here, and check out SnoreLab’s recommended memory foam wedge pillow here.

Stop Snoring with Side Sleeping – Michael’s Story

Stop Snoring with Side Sleeping – Michael’s Story

We like to hear from our users and find out how they use the app and what they have done to combat their snoring. With these user stories, we hope you can pick up some great tips and gain some motivation to address your snoring too. This user story comes from Michael who contacted us on Facebook …

I started using SnoreLab in December 2016 because I didn’t believe I snored as badly as my wife suggested. I was wrong.

When I started using the app, over the first two months, my average Snore Score was about 50 with my peak scores around the 60 mark. I have been using it ever since, and the changes I have made now mean that my average is 26 with scores seldom over 40.

At 70 years old, I’m generally very fit and a very active cyclist. I’m interested in health matters so I can continue to be this way for many more years.

That being said, I suffered from acid reflux and have asthma. I’ve now got these and my snoring under control, with the remedies and techniques I use serving to help all of them together.

Using SnoreLab over the last two years, I have taken many small steps to arrive where I am now, making sure to monitor these steps on the app.

I apply all the usual sleep hygiene tactics to ensure I don’t go to bed exhausted and have as good a night’s sleep as possible.

I have elevated my bed head by eight inches, a remedy originally to treat my acid reflux which has worked a treat for both that and my snoring.

To help with my asthma, I also use Breathe Right nasal strips every night. Keeping my nose open has also helped to reduce my snoring.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always slept on my back, and as I got older this was making my snoring worse and worse. I wasn’t fond of the tennis ball idea as I’ve heard that it can be extremely uncomfortable and can often wake you up throughout the night. After trying many other ways to convince myself to sleep on my side, only one thing worked …

I use a small inflatable camping pillow, about half the size of my normal pillow. I blow it up to just short of its maximum so it is very firm and difficult to roll on to and push this inside a normal pillow case all the way to the end which leaves a tail. Sleeping on this tail stops the camping pillow from rolling away whilst propping me up and stopping me from rolling onto my side. If I want to get onto my back it’s quite a struggle and doesn’t happen by accident.

This trick combined with the nasal strips and bed head elevation have really helped my snoring and I can hear the difference in SnoreLab.

SnoreLab Success Stories

SnoreLab was created out of desire to help people and we love hearing stories about the app achieving just that. This page is a collection of genuine user stories taken from iTunes user reviews.

You’ll notice that everyone has a different snoring trigger and hence a different snoring solution. SnoreLab aims to help you find those triggers to get the solution that works for you …

For some snorers, weight loss can be a powerful tool:

“I had a very high snore score and thought I tried everything. I was diagnosed with asthma after allergy tests came back normal. I started asthma treatment and my score is now 0. I watched the SnoreLab graph drop over the last 4 months. I am amazed. My snoring was caused by asthma. I’m now able to sleep longer and feel rested. I also lost 25 pounds. Amazing how awesome I feel after I sleep thru out the night without getting “elbowed” by my spouse and being able to breath.”

Often, allergies and hay fever can worsen snoring:

“Using this product I identified hay fever as the source of my snoring. Adding a Tempur pillow and a hay fever remedy has had a dramatic effect after one week, more energy, ability to concentrate after getting a good nights sleep. Went from a score of plus fifty to less than 10 in one week. Brilliant!”

Sometimes, just simple weather changes or the climate you live in can make you snore:

“Love this app – I live in a very dry climate – after several scores between 35 and 50 – I bought a humidifier and now my score was 7!”

For many of our users, anti-snoring mouthpieces can massively reduce snoring:

“If you snore, think you snore or are positive that you don’t snore: get this app! For me, it app proved to me that I did snore. The problem was how to fix it. I started with nasal strips and nasal sprays. The app proved that these remedies had no effect, so I decided to buy a snore guard (SnoreRx) and viola … no snoring! How do I know? This app records you all night long, graphs snoring episodes and the intensity and gives you a Snore Score. Before the device, my Snore Scores were between 15 and 45. Since the device, my scores are 1 to 3! I’m also starting to feel refreshed in the morning.”

“After a few nights, I bought the upgrade to this app. It’s both the most expensive app I’ve ever bought, and some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I have been experimenting with different types of anti-snore devices to see what works best and is most comfortable for me, and this app helped me quickly and objectively rate how effective they are at preventing me from snoring. The interface is easy, and it supports every feature I wanted. After spending literally thousands of dollars on sleep medicine doctors, I’m now sleeping better after using this app to help me choose between a few, comparatively inexpensive, over-the-counter remedies. This ended up far more effective than I had imagined (specifically for me, the tongue-retention class of device), and this app helped me do it in a couple of weeks (and I knew what was and was not working after each night!)”

We hear from plenty of users who attribute their snoring to sleeping position. Specialist pillows can be invaluable in these instances:

“This app is brilliant. It proved my theory that I snore when I sleep on my back and I don’t snore when I sleep on my side. What a great idea this app is!!! I have chronic health problems and, without a good night’s sleep, I just can’t function. So it’s very important to know how to get the best, and most restful sleep. I can also share that arthritis and a poor mattress had made sleeping on my side all but impossible for many years and, during that time, I became a walking zombie from snoring and sleep apnea. I NEVER felt rested and could fall asleep ANYWHERE on a dime (and give you 9-cents change). For example: when I stopped the car at traffic lights and stop signs (it’s the God’s-Honest Truth). Then, I got a foam mattress from IKEA and voilá! I sleep comfortably on my side again! And what a dramatic difference it has made in my life! I wake up feeling REFRESHED! A sensation I had forgotten entirely. I wish the same sweet recovery for all of you who wake up every morning feeling like what you really need is … another 8 hours of sleep! Snore less and sleep more – you’re gonna LOVE it!”

“When I first started using the App my Snore Index was anywhere between 50 and 96. I started to try some of the different Remedies. Bought a wedge pillow and in one night my Snore Index went down to near zero and has stayed near zero ever since using the pillow – and is actually zero most nights. Had seen three doctors, two specialists, one dentist and had a sleep study conducted – they all pointed me to dental appliances which I had troubles wearing due to a gag reflex. None had suggested a wedge pillow. Thank you Snore Lab!”

Sometimes, a problem as simple as a blocked nose can cause snoring:

“I have used this app for six weeks now. I have adjusted my sinus aids and my snoring has reduced from 210 to 60! I can be a travel companion once again!”

“I started using Snore Lab on the 23rd of January (a week ago), first on its own and now I use nasal strips at night. My wife has not had to get out of bed and go to another bedroom at all. I was supposed to see a doctor today at a sleep clinic where I went back in November, but I cancelled the appointment as I know what he was going to say “you suffer from sleep apnea” and here’s the solution!! The CPAP mask. Enough already, if I wanted to wear a mask I’d go nuts. Thank you SnoreLab, keep doing your thing!”

SnoreLab can also be very useful in medical consultations:

“Great app to monitor the severity of your own snoring and take to doctor to play the audio. Saved me from another sleep study in the lab.”

“This is a fantastic app. It really gives you a great concept of your snoring pattern and how long you sleep for. In the end I learned I have severe case of sleep apnea.”

“I’ve never really understood why my wife wears earplugs to bed. This app has allowed me to record and track my nightly racket and convince me that a sleep apnea test should be next. Life changing app.”

“Now that I can hear what I sound like, I have been able to act upon my snoring and have reduced it significantly. Truly great app!”

The app is widely acclaimed by dentists and medical professionals:

“As a qualified ABDSM dentist who exclusively treats obstructive sleep apnea patients using oral appliances, we sometimes struggle to have fast, easy, objective metrics for our patients to see and appreciate. SnoreLab gives us that and then some! We have all of our patients download SnoreLab at their consult appointment and use the data to help them confirm their condition. After treatment they can see the results immediately the next morning. They experience vast improvements in snoring scores. They will still have to undergo a follow up sleep test to confirm the treatment is successful, but this quick and easy app helps them see the changes right away.”

We aim to give you understanding of your snoring problem so you can make the most appropriate changes:

“This app is a revelation. For the first time I feel in control of my snoring problem. I can monitor scientifically what exacerbates and what alleviates the problem. I feel certain now I can cure the problem and get my wife back to our bed! Thank you SnoreLab.”

“Helped an Epic snorer! Simple to use and has customisable features to personalise your war against the snore. Helps to show your patterns and records them. Quite frightening but useful. Helped me identify remedies and lifestyle patterns that impacted on my ‘snore’ . Now obsessed by the nightly graphs.”

“This is the best sleep recorder I have tried. While it doesn’t do anything directly to cut down on your snoring, it is helpful to know how loud your snoring is. It allows you to test out various ways to cut down on snoring. I’m down 40 plus percent in just two weeks!”
